Hoax is Dwayne Lucas from South - Africa, Cape Town. Dwayne first discovered psytrance throught his friends in year 2006.
After attending a couple of festivals for a few seasons and got the feels of the psytrance scene he decided to create his own psytrance project as a DJ.
Dwayne started producing Psytrance in 2011 after studying at Front Left School of Psytrance Music Production with Frozen Ghost, since then he has been working on his style and sound releasing a Hoax debut EP with South - African label Psy.ology Records in 2014 along with other previous releases on UP!NOIZE records also writing vs tracks with known names such as Antispin, Sidhartha, Frozen Ghost, Leppy, Controlz3ta, Drystortion, Roby, Tantrum, Algorhytm and many more.
For the last 3 year he has played along side some of the best local and international artists around the world such as, Skazi, Pixel, Azax Syndrome, Orca, Infected Mushroom, Hiyarant, Pitch Hikers, Hiyamyzo, Shift, Sonic Assault Archive, Disco Volante and many more at Mindbending events such as Disasterpeace Halloween / LOCKDOWN 10, Ultranoize, Mungus Fungus, One World.NYE, Untamed festival and soon in Portugal's well known festival Insomnia.
Hoax's music is based on a very unique sound and technique, His sound is characterized by clean kick and bass, mixed up with some powerful virus leads, dynamic rhythms, psychedelic effects and voice samples along with his special technique making his music unique.
